A young folk-rocker with a knack for introspective sincerity; London, ON based singer-songwriter John Muirhead’s songs are equal parts heartwarming and heartbreaking. Conjuring imagery that spans from small town Ontario to the depths of outer space and everything in between, storytelling is truly the heart of John’s music. Drawing inspiration from the paths of Canadian greats Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, and John K Samson, John has travelled across the province and beyond, sharing songs and leading singalongs in living rooms, bars, theatres, and folk festival stages.
In 2016, John released his debut EP Yesterday's Smile and showcased at the Folk Music Ontario conference in Ottawa, ON (Youth Discoveries Program participant & Taylor Mitchell Bursary Recipient). 2017 included a summer tour, multiple festival performances, and most notably, a nomination for "Young Performer of the Year" at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in November.
In 2018, John plans to release his second EP with a summer release tour.
